Let's Work Together to Get Young U.S. Voters Registered
Helping to ensure young people register and get to the polls in swing states remains essential, and TurnUp is the best vehicle for making that happen.
Hello, dear subscribers,
I’m here with a PSA about working together to get young U.S. voters registered — and an easy way you can help.
As I consider how to keep the Harris/Walz momentum going by "doing something," I've got some very exciting news.
I'm privileged to be one of the inviters for a Zoom event for TurnUp, a remarkable not-for-profit laser-focused on registering and turning out young voters in swing states. And oh how important that is!
Helping to ensure young people register and get to the polls in swing states remains essential, and TurnUp is the best vehicle for making that happen. Here’s a look at TurnUp’s core values. I can't wait for you — and all those who attend — to hear the charismatic Zev. It will be effective, hopeful...and brief.
Four million young people turn 18 this year, but only 30% of 18-year-olds are registered to vote. Given the predicted close electoral margins in key states, these young voters will likely decide the election.
To learn more about TurnUp and help it reach its goals for reaching young people at high schools, community colleges, and universities as the school year begins, I invite you to join me at our Zoom event on September 9th at 7:00pm Central. You can register in 20 seconds right now by clicking here. You'll receive a reminder of the event--which should last 30-45 minutes — and the opportunity to view a tape of it if you can't attend.
Why TurnUp?
As the election of our lifetime nears, I realize there are a number of worthy efforts to support. Why TurnUp?
Since its founding by Zev Shapiro in 2020, TurnUp has helped to register 250,000+ young voters. This year alone, they’ve registered over 85,000 new young voters at 1,300 high schools and community colleges. With our support, they can reach their goal of registering 200,000 young voters and help to turn out millions of low-propensity young voters in targeted swing states and congressional districts. TurnUp is special in that it not only registers folks, it makes sure they get to the polls.

On the Zoom, Zev, a terrific speaker and leader, will talk briefly about the organization and its current efforts. He’ll also take any questions you may have. Please consider registering now by clicking here.
If, as we hope, you are also disposed to make a tax-deductible contribution, you don't have to wait until the event: You can do so now online by clicking here. TurnUp is a 501 (c) (3) with a $3.5 million budget. If you would like to send a check or make a grant from a donor-advised fund or foundation, make the check payable to Turnout Activism Inc. and send it to 35 Walden St #3g Cambridge, MA 02140, USA. Their EIN is 83-3917641.
Thanks so much. Hope to see you at the Zoom event on the 9th. Even if you can't attend, you’ll receive a recording. And please pass this on to anyone and everyone you think might be interested. The stakes couldn't be higher.
Sincerely,
Christine Wolf
