Most importantly, within that healing, supportive environment, I wrote briefly (no more than 20 minutes/day) about some of the toughest memories and experiences I’ve ever had — and that’s when EVERYTHING SHIFTED.
By giving myself the chance to air some of my toughest memories on paper, I allowed my heart to crack wide open, and it changed me for the better.
By moving some painful memories and negative narratives out of my heart and onto the page, I felt transformed, more in control, and less burdened. I was no longer the sole container for those painful memories and narratives.
When I allowed the page to become my partner, I finally, FINALLY felt the peace and relief I’d yearned for. I still get tearful thinking about how transformative those 20-minutes a day were for my soul.
