I used to feel pressure to identify my writing "focus". What's my specialty? What subject am I a thought leader in? The answer, of course, is to JUST BE ME, and here's proof.
I love this so much. I did an IG post a few weeks ago talking about how "I'm not a niche," because I've always struggled with this concept of writing in a single niche. I love how Substack has given me the tools to not just stick with a single niche but hone my different niches and give my audience options. I may have to use this post in an upcoming post of my own :-)
Hi Christine. I'm very proud to overlap with you. I too have found that my best tool to attract new readers is to be myself. My health challenges this last year have actually helped me to do that - which is a lovely benefit from a tricky situation
Thank you for this affirmation and for the vulnerability that powers it - it reminds me how much more naturally we are drawn to imperfection versus perfection, how much more easily I connected with others when I was my messiest! By the way I LOVE the idea and intention behind your write-in sessions; making a commitment to myself to figure out how to join you for at least one a week sooner vs later. : )

Can't wait to read it when you post! PLEASE link it here in the comments :) Thanks for reading.
I think you’re a very niche person, over by dare at in the “fronchroom” and even at the Jewels!
Tanks!
