Wow. I’m not a fan of AI for various reasons but damn! I appreciate this.

You fail to understand Marguerite Church and your comparisons are inappropriate. Her objections, and mine, are very basic. Using her beliefs to attack someone is something she never did. Using her beliefs to personally attack someone is something she never did and would never do. She spent her entire life fighting for what she believed in and did it in a way that avoided every perjorative comment you invoke. Her margins of victory in the 13th Congressional District came because her constituants understood she represented those who agreed with her as well as those who might disagree with her. She never attacked dissenters to inflate her position. I recall protesters spending an entire day picketing her home in Evanston. It was a very hot summer day. She sent lemonade out to them. She had running debates with colleagues on the Foreign Affairs Committee who usually were in the majority. Yet more Democrats than Republicans attended her retirement dinner to honor her noting her intrinsic dignity and invariable positive personal approach to all she interacted with. Were she here today, she might well agree with much of what you say but would caution you to voice yourself using words and emotion that reaches out to people instead of attacking those who might disagree with you forcing differing opinions to stop the dialogue that democracy requires to exist. The weakness in your biography comes from the impossibility of knowing her or knowing virtually everyone who did know her, who worked with her, and who personally experienced how she approached life and the people who came into her life. Her affect on my life continues today. Rhetoric alone can overpower or replace content and is often employed when someone has nothing to say to support a position.

WOW! First, hello. Thank you for reading the piece I posted, and thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about Marguerite. Since I never had the privilege to meet her, I'm always grateful to connect with those who did.

For what it's worth, I made it clear in this Substack piece that the words I shared about Marguerite were not mine: They were generated by Artificial Intelligence, which draws on publicly available sources and data. The content in this Substack piece was generated by AI (artificial intelligence), not me, which I found utterly fascinating.

I agree with you that Marguerite brought people together -- a point I raise numerous times in my biography (Politics, Partnerships, & Power: The Lives of Ralph E. and Marguerite Stitt Church).

The point of this piece was to show the contrast between fiscal approaches between Marguerite and Elon Musk, using AI to construct a narrative. I did not use Marguerite's beliefs to attack anyone. Her beliefs were remarkable, and by asking AI to point out how her beliefs differed from someone like Elon Musk's, I hope to illustrate what an asset she was to our country -- and how dangerous someone like Elon Musk *could* be.

If interested, I'd love to connect with you about Marguerite. No matter what, I wish you all the best.

Christine
