Hi, I'll dive in, because it is fun to read what other writers have written and will write. Never take without giving back!

1) Writing is an important me allows access to different views--even shifting clauses and verbs in a sentence I've written can help me see my own though differently. It is also a vital means of communication because writing requires times and investment on the part of the writer ans well as the reader. As writers and readers we slow down for some time to notice wha is being said, to think, to wonder. And writing is important for the world because literacy enables us as citizens of the world to exchange and hone ideas and develop our thoughts together. I believe that reading and writing enlarges our human dimension. Sentences offered to readers nourish to a wide circulation system that feeds the heart of the world.

Writer's block ? Write a letter to a friend.

Favourite time to write is in the morning with hot coffee before anyone starts talking, before I remember chores or anything else.

Best advice? So much good advice it is hard to choose. One great tip: write--about any subject from polygamy to astrophysics--with a clarity and energy that will be intelligible and engaging for a smart 8 year old child.

Obviously connectivity, such a Zoom and Substact, are great advantages. Even the computer itself is a game changer. I remember writing on typewriters (though I miss the old IBM Selectric)

I guess I will be the first to comment! I'm on my lunch break from day job here. ;o)

Why is writing important to you and why do you think it's an important medium for the world?

Writing provides an opening for dialogue and provides a way for alternative viewpoints to be heard.

Discussion of nuance, voices of the people etc... We hear too much of the same messages all the time and its very polarized, we need more diverse voices and points of view.

What are your tried and tested remedies to cure writer's block?

As you said, just write. Also, for me, if I am feeling miserable, maybe take a break. I work full-time and do not want writing to become drudgery or it will ruin the experience for me (and probably the writing).

What is your favorite time to write?

On the weekend when I am liberated from my professional responsibilities. In bad weather, when I feel less guilty about being indoors.

What's the best piece of writing advice you've ever received and would like to impart to other writers?

To keep a balance between listening to others' advice about writing and yet stay true to my own style, a delicate balance.

What excites you most about being a writer in today's age?

The ability to connect in many ways with an audience, though this is fairly overwhelming to contemplate as well!

Look forward to reading others take on the questions!
