Question: Does it help to have an agent even with a hybrid publishing route?

Generally speaking, you won’t need an agent with hybrids. They work directly with authors. However, you might want to work with a coach or an author when you’re considering or unsure how to evaluate different hybrids…or if you’re needing help negotiating terms, royalties, rights, or marketing support…or if you’re looking to build a long term career as an author and want a strategist on your team… or if you’ve already written a book that might cross over into traditional publishing (some agents represent hybrid authors to help manage their careers across multiple formats or platforms).
